This is a photo of the Black Sand Beach on the road to Hana, in Maui, on my honeymoon, back in June 2010. The sand of this beach is black because of the crushed pieces of lava that turned into grains as a result of the waves. The water is a beautiful royal blue that works well in contrast to the black sand. I like this photograph because it is a unique, one of a kind beach with a beautiful contrast of colors.
